FIRST UK EDITION published by Secker and Warburg in 1962. The book has mild pushing to spine tips and a small single penned name to upper front paste down. Bright crimson unfaded top stain. The wrapper has a little soiling to the rear cover with a very small chip to upper edge of rear cover. Light browning to spine. Overall a near fine copy. This one is particularly rare as it is signed by the author without dedication to the title page. 
 
The novel is the first book of Grass's Danziger Trilogie (Danzig Trilogy). It is widely regarded as the author's masterpiece. Adapted to the big screen in 1979 to critical acclaim. This title is particularly rare to find signed.
